Anne Herbert Photography is located in Harford County, Maryland. I specialize in taking natural light portraiture of newborns, children, and families. My passion for capturing memories in still frame was born when my children were. I am always humbled and excited to photograph a special moment, and my intent is to reflect the authentic feeling of the experience and my client’s true personality.
Who are you?
I am a photographer, a wife, and a mother to two amazing girls. I was not especially interested in photography until I saw that first little baby face five and a half years ago for the the first time and realized there are moments in life worth saving!Photo courtesy of Pied Piper Photography |
Who are you?
What type of pictures do you take?
Now this is an interesting question. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so how do I choose just a few to describe my style? First, take a look around my website, www.anneherbertphotography.com, and this blog. My actual pictures will give you a general idea of how I see through the lens.
I like to capture "realness" in the photos I take, instead of more formal posed portraits. To me, a good family photo captures the natural interaction of a family rather than everyone staring at the camera at the same time saying "cheese!" Creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere and taking the time for kids and families to become comfortable with me and the camera is really important to me. I capture emotions and relationships in photojournalistic style.
My event photography is no different, and I capture the big moments and small details of the day. My photographs tell the story of the day as it unfolds. I like to remain as undetected and unobtrusive as possible so that I can capture moments my clients will treasure, not constantly be interrupting them or attempting to recreate or fabricate moments.
I say all this because you will either read this and say, "That's just what I want!" or you will know quickly that I am not a good fit for you. My goal is not to take as many pictures of as many people as possible. It is to find and foster the right matches. I'm always happy to talk about the type of pictures I take in more detail as well, you can always email or call me.
Do you post process your images?
I personally post process every image included on your media cd. I do not believe in batch actions or outsourcing this delicate process. For every hour of photos I shoot, I spend about 5 hours in post processing. This is an important step that allows me to "finish" your photographs and incorpoate my signature style. Post processing takes time, but it is definitely worth it.
How do I receive my images?
You will receive a media disc with approximately 20-25 full sized, high resolution, fully edited images included on it. I feel that including everything that worked out from a session gives the client the freedom to make their OWN decisions about which pictures they'd like to print. I do offer prints, gallery wraps, and a variety of other options for your photos as well. This process means more work on my end, and it may change in the future, but for now that is how it works.
Where do you take pictures?
I am currently based out of Harford County, Maryland. I believe people are most comfortable when they are in their natural environment. I believe photos look their best with natural light. Currently all of my photo sessions are done outdoors on location or in my client's homes. Newborn sessions are done either in my home studio or on location in your home.
